Eastern Wake County Signs

Here we have a nice listing of signs from Eastern Wake County. This particular region includes such places as East Raleigh, Auburn, and Eagle Rock; as well as the towns of Knightdale, Wendell, Lizard Lick, and Zebulon.

Also of note, I also have links to maps for each of the sites I have visited and taken pictures. If you're interested in forming a little "sign hunting trip" of your own, these maps will come quite handy. One thing to keep in mind is that the maps represent the approximate locations, so please make sure to be careful if you are driving and wish to partake in this.

Sign Location Description
Animal Center sign [Just added] New Bern Ave. @ Corporation Pkwy. [Map] Aside from images of those lovable critters, there is evidence that this sign received an alteration of sorts. The name change may be merely cosmetic, but its purpose remains the same.
Trellis Court block sign [Just added] Buffalo Rd. @ Trellis Ct. [Map] If you're looking for a specific address on this particular road, you might want to heed the sign below so you make the correct turn from where the Buffalo(e) roam.
Trucks Keep Right sign [Just added] US 64 Business @ Hodge Rd., Knightdale [Map] These signs can be found in abundance along this stretch of highway leading towards Raleigh. This was arranged in a way to better handle heavy loads of traffic that wen through here on a regular basis before the 64 Bypass had been completed.
Obscure Directional sign Shepard School Rd. @ Judd St., across from Zebulon Middle School; Zebulon [Map] This sign does more than show you how to get back to the main highway, which in this case would be US 64. This one even gives you detailed instructions as well. Of course, it would help to slow down and read this one carefully, since the serif type on this one is small.
Yellow Right Turn sign 3rd St. @ Rowland St., Wendell [Map] What appears to be a typical traffic directional traffic sign with a different color leads the way to the town park.
White Dead End Road sign Horton St. @ Wakefield St., Zebulon [Map] Either this is an old sign whose original color faded over time or this is a potential sign goof. Either way, at least you know for sure what's up ahead.
Best Town In The Triangle sign US 64 Business @ Parkside Commons, across from Wal-Mart; Knightdale [Map] Displays the postumous honor given to this ever-changing burg in Eastern Wake County by the good folks at WTVD Channel 11 back in 1998. Somehow, I wondered if they were ever aware of the traffic problems that plagued this highway for a long time before the Bypass opened.
Universal Chevrolet used car sign 4th Street @ Cypress Street, in the back of dealership; Wendell [Map] The saying "They just don't make 'em like that anymore" stands true to this sign. Offers a real small town feel to the place, kinda like Mayberry in a sense.
No Amphitheatre Entrance sign Rockwood Drive @ Rock Quarry Road [Map] Residents of this quiet neighborhood want to make sure concert-goers don't cut through here when they're in town attending a show at Alltel Pavilion. There's no direct access to the outdoor concert venue from here, in case you're wondering.
