Capital City Signs

Here we have a nice listing of signs located inside the Raleigh Beltline. For the most part, the pictures listed here are ones found within Central Raleigh that aren't associated with the Glenwood Avenue Bridge, the Hayes-Barton/Five Points community, or N.C. State, since those places have their own separate webpages.

Also of note, I also have links to maps for each of the sites I have visited and taken pictures. If you're interested in forming a little "sign hunting trip" of your own, these maps will come quite handy. One thing to keep in mind is that the maps represent the approximate locations, so please make sure to be careful if you are driving and wish to partake in this.

Sign Location Description
No Parking In Island sign [NEW] Chatham Ln. @ Stevens Rd. [Map] It may not be quite the tropical paradise as it might seem. However, residents living along the half-loop suggest that you not foul up the scenery as you find a place to park your vehicle.
Cars Entering Street sign Wade Ave. @ Mitchell St. [Map] Because of its many odd twists and turns, motorists on this particular street need to heed extra special caution. The same could very well be true whenever people are attending services at a nearby church.
Tree Beautification Project sign New Bern Ave. @ Peartree Ln. [Map] Acknowledgments are in order for a number of civic groups who helped make this stretch of road a little nicer by planting trees along the median.
Centennial Campus Middle School sign Gorman St. @ Thistledown Dr., north of I-40 [Map] It's quite unusual for this particular sign to be red instead of green. Turns out the school is located on NCSU's Centennial Campus, hence the color arrangements.
Must Turn Left/Right signs
[Left] [Right]
Ridge Rd. @ Varnell Ave., just off I-440 [Map] The exit ramp leading to Ridge Road from the Beltline is the primary reason behind the need to divert traffic away from the potential for confusion in that critical area.
Curved left turn sign Boylan Avenue @ Hillsborough Street [Map} An unusual alignment exists for Boylan Avenue when passing through here. This sign does come in handy when navigating through this tricky intersection. Just be careful when making a left turn here.
Dual left turn warning sign Poole Rd. @ Rose Lane, approaching Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. [Map] Yet another tricky alignment near the city center. Since Poole Road's continuation is rather difficult to spot here, this sign helps the motorist know what to expect down the road.
Sharp Curve sign Cox Ave. @ Flint Pl., near NCSU Rd.; Raleigh [Map] This very steep curve may have been an actual intersection at one point. That's because Park Ave., the street that meets Cox at this juncture, does have a stop sign. Still, this is a rather wild turn that you need to pay close attention to if you happen to be driving through.
