Campus Road Signs of
University of North Carolina

Here we see an overhead street signpost, which are typically found at major intersections all over campus. Notice the Old Well and interlocking "NC" icons found on these babies. In case anyone's wondering, the Town of Chapel Hill is mainly responsible for putting these up instead of the University.

Construction seems to be quite frequent around here over the course of the last few years. With newer buildings being built and certain parts of the infrastructure being replaced, the amount of activity has driving around campus a real chore. Fortunately, these construction signs offer more specific information regarding what's closed and how to get around, like this one on Country Club Road.

This construction pedestrian crossing sign alerts motorists to be careful with all those construction workers having to cross the street. This one is located on Ridge Road adjacent to Kenan Stadium.

This plaque located near historic Carmichael Auditorium pays homage to the late Chancellor Michael Hooker, who served in that position for a few years in the mid-1990s until his untimely death. The athletic fields named in his honor are used for intramural sports such as flag football, ultimate frisbee, and rugby.

Anytime the Tar Heels play a home football or basketball game, parking anywhere on or near campus is at a premium. Chapel Hill Transit offers to ease the crunch through an express shuttle service to campus from four different park-and-ride lots all over Chapel Hill and Carrboro. This one in particular leads to the lot near the Friday Center, located just off Highway 54 across from Meadowmont.
